New York, NY-- June 24, 2013 -- Isowalk, a revolutionary mobility aid that provides intelligent, personalized walking assistance to each individual user, will be on the runway and in the spotlight during CE Week in New York, June 26-27.
Isowalk will be featured as wearable technology in the CE Week FashionWare Expo, and take the spotlight during the event's prestigious fashon show. In keeping with CE Week themes of digital health and senior tech, Isowalk will be demonstrated by a senior model on the runway. Isowalk is being crowdfunded through Indiegogo.
Isowalk’s radical design makes it self propulsive, and a host of ergonomic and biomechanical advances provide active, intelligent walking assistance that conforms to each individual user and step. Digital intelligence that makes Isowalk an important new smart object for connected health will be introduced with a successful campaign. Isowalk's innovations have already been awarded two U.S. patents.
"We're honored that Isowalk will be featured at FashionWare," said company founder and CEO Ron Goldberg. "While Isowalk is beautiful and takes away the stigma of using a cane, wearable technology isn't just about style. A mobility aid is arguably the most natural carrier for smart apps in the digital health space. Isowalk is wearable technology that the user doesn't have to wear."
Isowalk is a dramatic breakthrough beyond the cane, which is likely the world's oldest technology. Using the latest advances in ergonomics and materials, aerospace-inspired engineering, and modern aesthetics, Isowalk provides virtually effortless walking assistance, with leverage, stability and comfort that conforms to its user's specific gait characteristics.
Digital applications planned for 'connected' Isowalk models include 2-way alerts, real-time and archived physiological data and location tracking, among others. Isowalk is particularly relevant in the senior health space as an alternative to the PERS (personal emergency response system) pendant, a technology that many seniors are resistant to wear.
With a successful campaign, Isowalk is slated for a public unveiling at the January 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Indiegogo contributors will receive the first models, and e-commerce general availability will follow.
Isowalk's Indiegogo campaign runs through July 25. Contributor perks, and demonstrations of Isowalk features, can be seen at:
